The presentation of an autonomous robot cleaner, designed for cleaning large premises, industrial and commercial facilities, took place at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Tech Garden Autonomous Cluster Fund.
A fully self-contained device washes floors and independently navigates in space without human intervention, bypassing people, walls and other obstacles. The robot economically consumes water, cleaning it in the internal tank for reuse. Elements of artificial intelligence have been introduced into the control, which allows several robots to effectively interact in the same room without interfering with each other. As needed, the robots themselves are sent to the base to replace the battery and water.
“By participating in Tech Garden's three-month acceleration, we, first of all, gained a lot of new knowledge and were able to bring our robot to the stage ready for industrial assembly. Secondly, we found customers and partners in Kazakhstan. The first robots today were presented at the Nursultan Nazarbayev international airport," said project co-author Nikolai Potapov.
The startup of Autonomous Technologies, a resident of the IT-park of Yakutia, was attracted to Kazakhstan as part of the StartupKazakhstan program, which aims to support Kazakhstani companies, as well as attract foreign startups to create a critical mass of technology companies in Kazakhstan.
The washing robot was developed by scientists and students of the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University and at the moment its assembly is carried out in the workshops of the 'Yakutia' Technopark' State Autonomous Institution. At this time, the issues of creating a full-fledged industrial production of these robots in Kazakhstan are being studied. The startup has already signed a contract for the supply of 100 robots for Kazakhstani companies, negotiations are underway to supply another 500 robots for enterprises from the Russian Federation.
