Evgeny Chekin: Yakutia is an active participant in the EEF business program

The delegation of Yakutia took part in the opening of the International Eastern Economic Forum-2017 in Vladivostok.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev emphasized the growing international attention to the forum, which is gradually becoming a point of attraction for business circles of various countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Speaking about the new mechanisms for socio-economic development of the Far East, he stressed that these changes should be irreversible and lead to a positive result.

"New investment projects in the Far East should be provided by kindergartens, schools and hospitals," Yuri Trutnev noted the social orientation of state policy in the macro-region.

Representatives of South Korea, Vietnam, India and the State of California, USA, also spoke at the opening of the forum. Foreign guests expressed interest in active cooperation with the Far Eastern regions of Russia in many areas. Separately, information technologies, mining, pharmaceuticals and fisheries were singled out.

Following by the opening of the forum, Prime Minister of Yakutia Evgeny Chekin noted that the republic is an active participant in the business program. Within the EEF, the republic plans to sign 18 agreements, including the implementation of priority projects in Yakutia.

Following the results of the selection within the framework of the pitch-sessions, such projects will be presented: Tourist and Recreational Cluster Northern Mosaic, the construction of the Agro-Industrial Park Pokrovsky, projects of the Kolmar Group of Companies, the creation of a jewelry cluster in the ‘Kangalassy’ Industrial park’ Advanced Development Zone (the first stage), program of water treatment facilities reconstruction in the city of Yakutsk.

Additionally, the projects will be presented at the sites of federal executive bodies:  the construction of a bridge across the Lena River, geological study and industrial development of the Western Anabar license area, the creation of a tourist complex on the basis of the ‘Lena Pillars’ Natural Park. Also there will be presentations of projects of wind generation in the village of Tiksi and solar power generation projects.

It is planned to hold seven business meetings at the level of the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), including with the President of Mongolia, Battulga Haltmaagin, on foreign trade cooperation and the organization of the ‘Children of Asia’ International Sports Games, Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj on the issue of cooperation. Negotiations will be held with the General Director of ‘Hevel’ LLC, Igor Shakhrai; PowerChina International Group Ltd. / Sinohydro Corporation Limited; President and Chairman of the Board of VTB Bank (PAO) Andrey Kostin, Chief Executive Officer of PJSC ‘Rosneft Oil Company’ Igor Sechin.
